I surrounded myself with words that made no sense and found my compass as I wrote them down slowly, playing around with ordering them and turning them upside down. This collection of poems is the roadmap of a journey I have not yet completed. It is what I wanted to say but did not know how. It is what I did not allow myself but needed so many times. It is what hurt me without my knowing it and what came after to put me back together. It is what is gone and will never return.

I started writing poetry as a form of catharsis, towards the end of my psychological therapy process. After nearly three years of trying to make sense of my existence, I have managed to find balance within myself. I have lived in different places, and returning “home” has been more difficult than leaving for the first time. I have found my home in books, people, cities, and, above all, looking at the ocean. I live facing the Atlantic, in a small corner of Galicia filled with salt air and fog that embraces me when I need it most and forgets me when it suits me. Thank you for reading.
